The Elysian Orchid-Bum Monkey is a recently discovered species of simian native to the Southeastern jungles of Elysium. This gregarious little critter shows clear sexual dimorphism, with males sporting vivid orange fur on their heads (theorized to be a feature that appeals to females). Both sexes have a light-purple bottom, most likely used for some form of communication or species identification (there might be simians similar to this one that display different characteristics). The particular shade of purple these monkeys display on their bums is "orchid purple", hence their name.

Another interesting feature is their tail. Orchid-Bum Monkeys have sharp spurs running down the length of their tails, which are also covered in thick, leathery skin on the underside. Most likely, this particular feature is meant to prevent falling from slippery, moss-covered branches.

These monkeys have been observed feeding on fruit and small invertebrates (a rather unremarkable diet for a small jungle simian). Scholars still have a lot of research ahead of them to understand these small creatures.
