The mission hadn't gone as planned.
The objective was to infiltrate the main tower belonging to the target, named Maxwell Russel, to access a hidden server room and extract files, that would give incriminating proof that they had been taking part in experimenting with illegal biological weaponry, and then leave without a trace.
Fox was to infiltrate the tower and find the server room.
Krystal would offer support across another skyscraper with her sniper rifle and x-ray goggles.
Falco would extract them with his ship, if the situation called for it and Slippy would offer tech support and do the hacking of the servers remotely, once Fox had him connected.
After successfully getting inside the building, finding the server room and managing to extract the files they needed, the buildings guards were alerted by a fail safe alarm and a fight ensued.
This eventually lead to the capture of Fox and him being brought to the target, who was already making his escape on the helipad.
But before leaving he decided to toy with Fox, by challenging him to a duel in hand to hand combat, knowing full well, that Fox had already been exhausted by the fight with the guards earlier.
It wasn't a fair fight and no matter how much of a fight Fox gave, the result had already been decided before it even began.
After pummeling Fox to almost unconscious, the target decided it was time to put on end to this little game of his.
The crew had desperately attempted to get to Fox's aid, but it wasn't looking good.
Falco had ended up being stuck with enemy ships that would not allow him to approach and Krystals view to the helipad was obstructed from her original position.
After running as fast she could to a better advantage point, she arrived to a balcony with clear visibility to Fox and the target, but to her dismay, a scouting ship had come around the corner and spotted her.
It soon after fired a missile at her.
In a desperate moment, Krystal jumped over the balcony railing and started sliding down the slippery roof of the building. The explosion of the missile alerted the guards from the targets tower to the situation on the roof and started also firing.
With the ship still chasing after her and now even the guards firing at her across the building, she has only a single shot to save Fox from his demise.
Had a lot of fun making this and I'm quite proud how it turned out overall.
This is my contribution for her appreciation month.
