The E-9U is the actual final goal of the XE-1001U prototype, a compact energy weapon that uses some easly sourced components mounted in a easy to produce Ultralloy matter-printed receiver, it was aimed as a mass production weapon for the planets that needed planetary garrisons of "organics", that need to be self sufficent hence the choice of using Unimod components, the readly avabile E-9A receiver blueprints and the techincal knowledge gained in the cooperative creation of the P.E.Ke.R. rifle
