If you feel no pain and can't die, how would you understand what consequences are? Just about the only thing that might scare Jamie is if he was to lose Luca. But in his world, that cannot happen. Luca sometimes goes away for a long time, sometimes he gets mad at Jamie... but even if i takes years, he always comes back to him.
This is a constant more certain than gravity to Jamie: Luca will always be there.
