This is related to another event/ drawing challenge that was introduced in my RP group~ To oversimplify the themes the participating artists had to alter the appearance of their character(s) based on a theme. My theme was pirate!

Specifically I was told to “Paint” Liel with the pirate paint brush from Neopets.(Pirate Neopets Refs - https://wardrobe.jellyneo.net/rainb.....?colour=Pirate )

Lucky for me the blueish grey “fur/skin” tone that the paintbrush applies to pets works for an undead character so I leaned into that! But I came up with my own explanation for this appearance that suits Vampire Liel's storyline.

In this instance, Liel’s undead body doesn’t retain it’s lively coloration. Instead she looks dull and "deathly" all the time. Also, the first time she’s burned by the sun it leaves a scar over her eye. Liel is very sensitive about her appearance, so at first she tries to hide her ghostly blue skin under clothing, and she hides her scar under an eye patch.

Later someone mistakes Liel’s strange look for stage makeup. This gives the girl an idea. She finds a theatrical outfit and a cutlass. She spends a lot of time in taverns (Out of the sun because she’s still a vampire), performing skits and singing sea shanties! She thrives on the attention she garners, but whenever someone asks about her undead appearance she claims it’s just a part of her act! She’s a ghost pirate! Which is clearly a made up thing and *definitely* not a literal undead vampire in disguise!
