I had an idea a long while ago, of an alternate timeline where Star Fox Adventures ended on a more bittersweet note, with Fox and Krystal unable to leave the planet Sauria and were stranded there for years, unable to return to space. Of course, they did what a male and female fox always do when introduced to a new environment-- they got busy and started making more foxes. If the Star Fox crew ever finds Fox again, they'll be in for a big surprise!
This was a really fun, albeit large project and I'm glad to have finally gotten the opportunity to make it happen, since as you can tell there's a lot of characters involved and 5 of them had to be designed based around the parents. I enjoyed imagining what kinds of color combinations would be possible from Fox and Krystal's genes. Also, since they would have presumably gotten started shortly after Star Fox Adventures ended, in this timeline Marcus McCloud would have had a lot of older siblings.

As Marcus is a pre-existing design and the 6th kid, its implied all the others are also Fox's and Krystal's.

Yeah. I mean, I'm not an expert in fox genetics, and I doubt Heresy is either. I suppose its technically possible of some recessive genes in both of them, but I think in the twin's case he's pulled from the white fur on their fronts, and purple as a shade variation of blue.
I suppose I'll give him a pass to avoid having a bunch of characters with identical fur colours.

Heh. This is pretty much what my OC Isaac and Alopex would do once they reach the end, where they settle down and start having Wolf/Fox hybrid children, at least about 6 kids. And two of the births would result in twins.

Star Fox 64 - Nintendo 64 1997 - Basically a remake of the original and considered the first game as far as modern lore goes. Introduces a new character or two. Though less important to the overall lore as...
Star Fox Adventures - GameCube 2002 - The game which introduces Krystal. Fantastic game, but different from its predecessors and successors. Very interesting history where it was meant to be a completely different, non-Star Fox game. Early sign that Nintendo had no idea what to do with this series. Essential material and as good a start as any.
Star Fox Assault - GameCube 2005 - Another Rail shooter, Establishes Krystal as a member of the team, average game.
Star Fox Command - Nintendo DS 2006 - Good game, mixes tactical map movement with sandbox flying shooter. Lots of cool ship designs and introduces a few new interesting characters. Lore wise... The last game Krystal appeared in, kinda ruined her character, has multiple endings with no true ending, leaving it up to the player. Marcus is also first (and only) referenced in one of the endings.
The death of the series before an attempted reboot.
Star Fox Zero - Wii U 2016 - Attempt to reboot the series. Kinda a copy of Star Fox 64. Basically, killed the series.
Fox is also a playable character in every Smash Bros. game.
For the major references used today, Adventures and Command. Assault and 64 will get the rest, though I wouldn't say they're essential.
