When I first did this, someone commented that it looked too bright and sunny. What can I say? I live in Southern California, and that's what the beaches look like here! The RL place I used for reference is Redondo Beach and Redondo Beach Pier, and I actually went down and took photos of the beach and pier when I was working on this.
Anyways, I thought people that had enjoyed my two more recent music comics might find this interesting. Done almost completely with markers.

Oh God, I was thinking about making a comic version of this song a couple of weeks ago while driving, with 'Viva Hate' in the cd player... I find the sad songs of the smiths (and early Mozza) hilarious, the irony in them is stronger than every possible seriousness they can contain, except maybe a couple. And honestly, Smiths' irony helped me getting through adolescence a lot.

Typical "pretty girl" music video that has little to do with the actual lyrics.
I've always wanted to do a comic of Fastball's The Way, which also has a video that has nothing to do with the song, but I was stymied by my inability to draw cars and trucks. I do have the layouts done, so if I ever find another artist who CAN do cars and trucks, it could still happen.
