“Ugh, I hope it’s not much longer until I’m out of here...” Fay sighed, slightly adjusting her top.
It hadn’t been too much walking, but given her outfit, the canine clearly hadn’t planned to hike through the forest she was in at all. The poor girl had been driving to a cosplay party, already dressed for the occasion as Faye Valentine. She thought it was a cute outfit and a bit playful to dress as someone with almost the exact same first name. Now she was wishing she’d brought a change of clothes... or a better car.
Just as she’d started driving through the forest, the old vehicle had broken down, and with no tools to fix the problem, she’d been forced to start walking. Giving another sigh, the spaniel looked up, then gasped in delight.
“Oh, thank heavens!”
Sure enough, the end of the treeline was in sight. Fay picked up her pace, reaching the end of the forest and emerging into a grassy field. It wasn’t her final destination, but the breeze was far more prominent here, and given the forest was a bit humid and muddy, she was more than happy for the change.
“Not too much longer, then I can rest, have a drink, and laugh about all of this.” She grinned to herself, starting across the grassland. “Hopefully there’s someone nearby that can help.”
Just because she probably could walk the rest of the way there didn’t mean Fay wanted to. Sure, her outfit did draw eyes to her frame, but she’d long since stopped caring about that. If someone gave her a quick once over and agreed to help, that was a fair trade in her eyes. The grass slightly rippled with each new breath of wind from nature. Fay smiled.
It was nice out here, even if she didn’t want to stay too long. Based on her surroundings, there was still a good way to go, but she was making much better progress now that the humidity seemed to have subsided, if only a little.
Of course, unbeknownst to her, it had rained around this area not too long ago. The grass itself had soaked up all of the water, giving it the beautiful, lush green color. However, there were quite a few patches where no grass resided. It looked flat and solid... but only one of those things was true.
“I just hope the car repair isn’t too tough...” Fay mumbled to herself, walking forward while looking back at the forest.
Just in time to walk closer and closer to a mess waiting for a new resident. Three steps... two... one...
