A Bateman study of a Great Horned Owl I did back in highschool. Sorry for the poor photograph. I couldn't quite get the colours right, and a lot of the detail was lost in the lack of proper focus...

Beautiful picture. Look very realistic, and it’s not digital (not to say digital is uglier in any way traditional art just strikes me as being harder to do very well; could be wrong though). I don’t think it’s a poor photograph, and the colors actually turned out really well, especially on the owl itself. Owl’s are a pretty bird, who have many amazing qualities to them. Was able to see one up close and in person once, though it was a rarely breed of screech owl and pretty sinister in appearance. Heheh will always remember that bird, had orangish red feathers, yellow eyes, and a pretty pissed off disposition. Anyways though great work from past, :P bet your high school teacher was pleased (heheh mine would have gone crazy. My high school was in a very small town and no one was very talented in visual art. Our teacher learned not to expect much)
Thank you very, very much for the lovely comment - I really do appreciate it. Heh, yes, I know what you meant when you said "it's not digital" - it takes a lot more skill and patience to achieve realism in traditional means, generally, than digital ones (it can depend, though).
Aww! Yeah, owls need more love :)
I don't have a print of this because it's a copy of a painting of Robert Bateman's - while it's fair to copy stuff for practice or whatever (in this case, it was a mandatory art assignment), it's technically illegal to commercially sell other people's stuff. SO! Failing that, why don't you look up Robert Bateman's original? It's much better than mine XD Some of his prints can be a lot of money, though, but I'm sure you can get a decent .jpg copy and get it printed at a store or something :)
