Raynie -> mannequin
Final commission from this batch, and it's a two-page sequence! Looks like Raynie here has gotten into a little trouble while browsing around in Forbidden Arts. Luckily, Blaire's got a solution~

                    Yeah, Blaire's a pretty powerful witch. The implication is that she either wanted Raynie to become a mannequin and then layered a locking spell onto the collar after it gave her what she wanted, or she just overpowered the collar entirely with a mannequin spell of her own. Either way, Raynie's stuck like that for now.

                    Also worth mentioning, Blaire is pretty laissez-faire when it comes to the effects of items purchased from her, meaning that she doesn't like to stack too much of her own magic on top of an item's effects with the purpose of interfering. It may be technically possible for her to put a lock on the effects of Raynie's collar, at least for a finite term, but such a setup is inherently a bit unstable and certainly not recommended on a permanent basis. She's only really doing it here because otherwise her security spells will activate if Raynie tries to exit the building. So realistically, as soon as Raynie put on the collar, her choice here was probably to be a mannequin for five months, or try to leave and end up as something even worse on an indefinite time scale. But when Raynie's time is up and she's paid for her purchase in labor, Blaire's got no intentions of trying to negate the collar's effects. Raynie will be free to go, but as far as her new 'gift' is concerned... she's stuck with it.

                    Oh, yeah, if Blaire's saying she can't remove it, then she really can't remove it-- not safely, at least. The problem isn't just a matter of physically removing it, it's that it's bonded now with Raynie's soul, so trying to remove it would, uh... not be a good time for Raynie. There's no way of severing that connection, because it's meant to be worn by someone who would put it on knowing the full ramifications beforehand. Collar's permanent, once it's activated. XP

                    Oh, really? Just left out on a shelf? You mean like the crystals that accidentally turned three employees into onaholes, or the cursed doll that ended up turning two employees into were-dolls for a little while? Or the potion that literally turned Blaire and her entire staff into sperm?
There is an inherent risk assumed from the usage of anything stocked in the basement, Raynie. It's all magic, and it all needs to be handled with care. There are perception spells on the doors too, so you can't even gain access to the basement unless you understand that magic is real and dangerous, and there's an assumption that any customer who meets that criteria is responsible enough to not fool around. And in her defense, Blaire does have very clear signage up around that portion of the shop which specifically states that customers handle the merchandise at their own risk, and that trying out anything in the store without requesting staff assistance is strictly frowned upon.
Besides which, Raynie, the other half of the store is a sex shop. As a customer, there's an unspoken expectation that you're not going to just pick up a dildo off the shelf without paying for it and start using it in front of everyone. Well, that expectation extends to the items in the basement as well, no matter how 'cute' it is. XP

                    You know, it's the kind of permanent thing that you'd put a safety label on. Or put in a secure case. Or put a sign 'try at your own risk'.
... And then I realize how rare common sense and reading seems to be, and how little it would help.
In fact, if there was a sign like that, I'd imagine it having a whole set of legualeese in the smallest font foudn in the corner, if someone has a wise idea.
