This is the same logic anti-semites use. The media is always refusing to acknowledge who's actually a threat that needs to be addressed because the real culprits are more willing to do harm to anyone that speaks out against them. They believe they can do no wrong as long as they're not what they hate, even when they're putting lives in danger.

Haters are usually socially awkward teenagers with a lot of insecurities so they hate on furries to cope with how they feel about themselves. Or just little kids who don't know anything. And if it's adults doing this crap.. well, that is quite literally just loser. Anyway, it's best to ignore these people and let them boil in their own misery!

Adults DEFINITELY do this crap. I had the pleasure (sarcasm) of having breakfast at MFF a few years ago at a hotel that, while not one of the official hotels, still had quite a few furries staying in it, but also a good number of normies as well. I overheard at least one table discussing the 'weirdos' and assuming we all had mental disabilities, or somesuch, and basically talking 'smack' about it in all sorts of ways that clearly indicated they had no idea what was going on, and didn't understand when the staff at our hotel had told them there was a convention in the area. I had to suppress an urge to over there and try to update them on what a 'furry convention' actually was, but it was none of my business and they would have probably turned it around to me harassing them or something. Some of the crap they said was quite infuriating, and definitely born of ignorance and rumor. They had no idea how much conventions like MFF raise for charity, all the good we do, and how a LOT of furries are in the IT and Cybersecurity fields and working hard to keep their data and lives safe from malicious actors...

It insane how some people act like this, just filled with hate and misery instead of enjoying their time off they choose to talk crap about a group in public. It really is infuriating overhearing something like that.
