Background -

A scuffle, a momentary scream, and then nothing.The moment the thought to poison the queen formed, his fate was sealed. He believed that no one was onto him, that he had managed to contact the secretive Anukhet society without any suspicion being raised, and that the poison he'd get from them would finally allow the nobles to take control once Queen Nahida had ingested it and died. But now, as the shadowy limbs began to envelope his body, his strength unable to fight them off, did he understand. The queen had eyes and ears everywhere, and no one, not him nor his fellow nobles of the court, were safe from her agents. He turned his head one last time, to at least get a glimpse at the one who would take his life.
