I think it's the best show on television, bar none. Brilliant writing, creatively animated, beautiful ideas.

Adventure Time (or at least the few episodes I've watched so far) was cute, in a 'hyperactive-kids-imagination meets totally-tripping-balls' kinda way. Plus it's partly voiced by the guy who plays 'Bender' in Futurama. What's not to love? :D

I'm a huge fan of it, but I'll admit some episodes are better than others, and whenever they show reruns they tend to show the worst episodes.

I will say though that compared to how the last 5 or so years of animation have been, Adventure Time, Regular Show, and MLP have renewed my hope in animation as a genre.

the writers/artists behind regular show and adventure time are/were huge stoners and ive noticed cartoons have begun leaning more and more towards surrealist humor since spongebob

They're slowly hinting at a underlying plot about the entire adventure time world that it's a post-apocalyptic result. It's also partly derived from/based off of Dungeon & Dragons sort of random adventures in a fantastical world. Some episodes are, especially stand-alone, rather meh, but I guess I have gotten into it.

Personally I cannot understand why people find Regular Show enjoyable; I've watched a bunch of episodes and just the whole OHHHHHHHHHHH! bullshit stoner boring party didn't hook me, though I TRIED to like it aha. Maybe it is because I don't do drugs. Though really, I dunno why I don't like both shows when they are pretty random, actually to me the main characters of Regular Show are annoying asshats. Alas to each their own as both shows seem to be doing well.

I liked the first few episodes of Regular show when it first came on the air, but I quickly noticed that it became repetitive, and frankly, just kinda weird. It's not bad, in my opinion, and I'll leave it on the TV if it's on, but it's nothing to write home about.

I feel differently about Adventure time, though. The show has a plot built, sort of, and like you mentioned, the underlying story of how it's post apocalyptic ( http://adventuretimewithfinnandjake.....i/Mushroom_War ). It feels more "interesting" to watch, I guess. And the bubbly art is quite enjoyable. lol

Yea at first it felt like they weren't going to have a underlying plot, just a lot of really random fantasy story ideas, but now they hint at it once in awhile? I read that articles and it's pretty cool and there seems to be a lot of back story with Marceline etc. I wonder if that was an initial idea, or something they decided as the went about writing stuff later, because right now it feels like a lot of episodes are simple one-off random parties.

Regular Show has it's moments and I'll probably catch up on it as I wait for new AT episodes heh.
