So, I heard that 
rukis was open for sketch commissions. I am working on a project with characters trying to live in a world pre industrialization. In here, is me with my prototype steam engine, and finally happy that it is working.
If you are wondering, the character is female, but dressed as male to hide her true self.

steam engine origins - in the beginning (this is what I was taught) the steam pressure to the piston was controlled by hand. Consequently, if the valve operators got a little off beat, the engine might blow up. I want to say I saw a depiction of this in the movie 'Elephant Man'.
Also - in the 1930's they had a steam powered aircraft. There is news reel footage of this on youtube.
This really is wonderful art.
