TRANSCRIPT

September 6th, Lily woke up this day. She was so happy to see me, almost like nothing happened. But that quickly faded as the reality set it. Her home was gone. Jared, a close friend and even a father figure, was dead. And now STEEL was hunting her, same as me.

She wasn't safe here anymore. But she just wasn't ready to leave yet. I helped her to her feet, and while she was a little shaky, she was able to find her footing. But when she saw the bed next to her, the one holding Jared. She kneeled beside it and wept. I comforted her as best I could, but to be honest I hadn't the slightest fucking clue what I could do in this situation.

After some time, I quietly heard her say that we couldn't leave him like this. She rose to her feet, and asked me if I could carry him. I did so, following Lily as she took me to a place not far from the water. I put him down while Lily walked towards the remnants of her hometown. She came back with a backpack and two shovels.

We both dug a hole for him and laid him to rest. Lily took a metal sheet from one of the fallen buildings and carved a tombstone for Jared.

So what were we to do now? Lily couldn't stay here, and neither could I. But then my comms pinged. It was them, the rogue wielders. They also caught wind of the attack at the Well. Someone named 'Pathfinder' instructed us to head south to the city of Ore. Its far from the safest place, but they could help us there.

Not having any other choice. Lily and I agreed to follow. I salvaged some gear from the fallen soldiers for Lily to wear. Stocked us both up on as much supplies as we could. And with that, we headed south in the direction of Ore, and this new map that I was given of the Coal Peninsula.

But that didn't stop us from taking in the sunrise.
