Here's his description of the character:

Renacell Neo, an experimental fusion between digital and organic matter, started out training in an isolated digital environment. She had been tasked with consuming and assimilating the other digimon who were present, the scientists believing her to be freshly activated with an aggressive, predatory, yet loyal personality to her creators.

Little did they know one of their team members went rogue; they activated her Rena.mon file far earlier on allowing her to develop her own morals and motives! In this first test run, not only were the digimon she consumed being kept for analysis rather than full assimilation, the blue sheen on her chitin indicates that they gave her just enough energy for her to break out of her digital prison..!
