I feel ya, Butter!
I used to be terrified of heights. Back in the 1970s (yeah, I'm old) I worked security in a chemical plant. There was a bridge made of expanded steel (think, fire escape) that crossed a narrow valley to a liquid terminal -- and a graveyard. I had to cross that high, narrow bridge at least twice a night to check on the valves and pipes above the chemical tanks. We had one guard who quit rather than cross the bridge but I stayed more than six months. I still don't like heights...

My dad worked for a while as a contractor for a company that installed internet for folks out in the country. Sometimes he climbed towers to do maintenance on them-
He described himself as being quite afraid of the height, but said that was a good thing, because if he ever became complacent, it was time to stop climbing towers.
