One of a pair of familiars-for-hire. Karo is, while not a spirit, still some kind of magical creature that roams around and generally looks for anyone that could use a lackey, minion, assistant, or any such type of individuals. Not just for (super)villains, baddies, or evil overlords or such either - they'll go along with more regular parties or even good-hearted folk if they get enough out of it, too.
They are not really loyal to anyone as a result, however - their "allegiance" only extends as far as the pay goes (so they claim, for the most part), as well as their partner-in-crime, Lia. But hey, they won't argue against being rehired if need be, and might even offer discounts if they like you enough.

...as far as they come with completely made-up-on-the-spot rates, anyway.
They're also a good trap-setter and dungeon diver, and 'venturer in their own respect (which comes handy when there's no proper work to be found every now and then). They're also a competent magic user and lockpicker.
