"Sometimes, You have to go through hell...to achieve...Resurrection. Hallelujah."
This is just a little icon drawing I did for my Discord PFP. It's of one of my OC's I've never shared here and it's because I'm scared to throw my character out into the internet. This character means a lot to me for reasons I don't know how to explain and I've been real worried about putting her out there, worried that if I do she's not mine anymore, but that's silly.
Her name is Neya, she's my Sheep OC who's the antagonist of a comic I want to write one day...I'm actually writing a story based all about her called Neya: Dead Memories and I'm at 225 pages with almost 10 chapters. I don't know if I'll share it because...no one would like my writing other than me
Needless to say, I love the Dexter series, mainly the TV series; I got back into the series in 2024 and it's become my favorite piece of fictional media of all time as it really resonates with me and, while I created Neya a long while before I ever got into the show. (Neya's a character I've had since 2021.), as I continue to develop her, I take heavy inspiration from Dexter Morgan. She's not a serial killer herself, she doesn't even believe she's evil, but she is someone you should worry being around. She acknowledges that the public and general masses would see her as a monster and a killer, but she really doesn't care; She lets them believe what they want, since Neya believes what she's doing is the right thing for everyone.
That was all said to say that this piece is heavily inspired off of the Dexter: Resurrection poster that came out. Neya doesn't fit under the same theme that Resurrection does, but I still love re-drawing Dexter poster's with her in his place. I have a lot of art of Neya, actually, but dunno if I'll upload most of it here...like my own art...I've never commissioned art of her but, I think I will someday, but yeah I have a few good pieces of her I've done. I was only ever to come up with Neya because someone who means a lot in my life helped me come up and think of her. Maybe that's why I love her so much.
