Yeah I've been there I know how that feels. Honestly since I hit 25 I've been feeling depressed every year my birthday rolls around feeling like I haven't accomplished enough to be worthwhile. I won't tell you how many years it's been since I hit 25 though.

Every day is trick or treating for me [and for many of us, I suspect]

It goes like this: I go into the world, dressed in a human costume, which is truly the most terrifying creature in the world. I really play the part, too. Everyone else is very good at creating an atmosphere of utter malice and terror which pervades every aspect of the world. Hallowe'en is eternal.

Everywhere I go, be it to work or to the home of a family member or a friend, that's always trick or treat. There's often food, which is given away [a treat].. or you have to ~trick~ them with shiny metal or weird papers or plastic cards, and then you get the treat all the same.
