"He will come on the eve of an eclipse. The Man he is will be different than the Man he will become. Hair as gold as wheat will turn White as snow. The clouds will gather over his head and a great storm will pass through every domain he rules and pour endless rain upon long dead crops and corpses. Famished will be those who refuse him, their mouths stained green from eating the barest of plants. This Man of storms will be joined by beasts and he will be called the King of Beasts, King of the Sun and Moon, the rainbow wreath atop his head and a mighty scaled beast at his back with power unlike any seen in over a millennia.... I see an endless winter, the Snow swallowing the fertile field and the Men from the land where the Sky meets the ground will come and claim all they can. The Dead Woman's great black cloak will envelop the continent and all who lived will sicken and all who sicken will die. Reborn they will be with hair of white, a mark of the Dead Woman's mercy, and they will fight. Fight for the ones who did not return, fight for the ones who suffered and fight for the world they already died for. The white Wolf, mouth wet with blood, will swallow the Witch whole, teeth full of metal and hungry for vengeance and his people will be the true might of this new empire. A great shadow will cover the North by the will of the White haired man and all will kneel to his might. I have seen so much... And more."
Known as Ninurmahmes "The Lady of Lions" this lioness is one of the most well known seers in written history. According to her own writings she was a seer, born sometime between the 9th and 10th millennium of the 3rd cycle. She was alive when the fourth moon of Alvarys still hadn't fully formed yet over 9,000 years ago. She would serve as a dream interpreter and fortune teller for all who came to her, sought after by nearly every King of every burgeoning city-state and every peasant that could walk. When she was young, her prophecies were simple. Positive understandings on dreams and the world around her. But as she grew older, her prophecies would grow more serious. Before she was sought after by merchants and their wives, even small children. Now Kings fought for her attention. Conquerors started wars either emboldened by her words or spurned into acting out against their "fate". Before long she was hated. People she once called friends had ostracized her and those who respected her word now feared her ill portents. Many stories written by her of her travels, every night seeing visions of wars and being powerless to stop them...
All that remains of her writings are prophecies. She wrote down many of her musings and many writings we have from the Age of Lions are remains of her writings. The excerpt above is a compiled rendition from her 7th, 28th and 166th writings found in the ruins of Esarhaddon. In these writings she managed to predict the birth and conquest of Master Kaius of Silver, current Highwreath of the Myrinian empire, his physical appearance (many stories say he had blonde hair before a sickness turned it white), the disease that ravaged the empire in 901 3C (3rd Cycle), The death and resurrection of the wolf Tiber and The Hour of the Starless Sky in the North where all cities mysteriously vanished except for the capital for four days. Many more prophecies and tellings exist in the sands of her ancient home. Should you find any, please bring them to the capital of the Empire so they may be deciphered and understood properly.

Yayyyyyyy! Another commission down! Coming up with the little writing was a lot of fun. I love futuristic prophecies and writings like that, they always make my mind race with potential. I wanted to used it to highlight some lore. I love when ancient societies can tell the story of the future that they don't understand but still gives an ill omen in their eyes. Imagine finding a cavepainting somewhere and seeing them perfectly paint a massive urban city like New York with its pristine skyscrapers or a mushroom cloud from a nuclear bomb. That would be so fascinating. So I added that here. The Lions are no longer a commonality in my world. They went extinct long ago with only a few names surviving the test of time. That's what this is.
Random fact: Ninurmahmes is actually an Akkadian name which translates to "Lady of the Lions". She wrote two letters to the Pharoah of Egypt and is believed to have been the ruler of her own city of Beit Shemesh. I thought the name was too perfect to not use. The Lions in my world of Alvarys were based off of several Mesopotamian cultures, the Akkadians being one of them. I hope you all enjoy this! I certainly do. I love this piece cause it's so darn scenic and pretty. Ale-Tie makes some really pretty kitties.

So sad but very poetic. And I totally noticed that akkadian name there. A nice touch. Did this lioness have foresight considered as a blessing or was she naturally gifted that she didn't consider it a curse? (I won't leave out the notion that magic is possibly involved or exist as well) 😏 I would love to see more of her. You definitely got a unique spin on things right here I'd love to see expanded upon.
