Had this idea stuck in my head between doing Sneptember doodles.
This is hubbos as a Big Ying, like, BIG... slightly begger than Patriarch Poak... being a guard for little old me while I rummage about the merchant sector of Valsalia - Ivanmoth for wares.
Time line is not much different than canonical OoP, the only thing is that hubbo Max is armed with some strange *almost alien levels of technology* compressed air rifle or HPA repeater in 30 caliber. Sort of like the Lewis and Clark HpA-PcP
I suppose I could draw Max with a more period correct dark ages crossbow but, being a fan of compressed air dakka... I'm going with the above. xD
Also this sketch is very much a work in progress. Arm positioning and pose needs to be changed to better fit him holding said pew-pew with his left hand. Also nix the denim shorts since this pose was taken from another project, and fit the big lug in a more proper red Ivanmoth tunic.

And here I thought from the thumbnail that this was going to be a crossover between OoP and Metal Slug ( or with, more likely with you ;) ) Maple Story.

Maybe. Or you could remove the shorts (heh; presumably to replace them with something else, still) and have this set in one of the many smaller towns in the south not explored in the comic's narrative. There is that one side story, which happened to have that angrily incompetent matriarch, set in the one northern town.
