SHIRTS, JACKETS, & HOODIES!
PRINTS & MORE!
My second most popular image to date. Long-overdue gift art for a friend, finished in time for Christmas. Two dragon mates based on her description, plus a few embellishments of my own design - she is the black and magenta dragon, and he is the silver one. I tried not to rush it too much, but I'm under tight time constraints this time of year.
20hrs? 20. Adobe PhotoShop 7.0.

Ahh, it can be pretty tough, as dragons can come in all sorts of shapes and form. I find a good place to start is by drawing their spine - the line from their head to their tail (if you give them one!) - helps you define the movement and pose. Then looking at photos of "dragony" animals (reptiles, birds, bats, etc.) can help for anatomy or inspiration (eg. an angler fish-inspired dragon would be scary!), or your favourite dragon pictures :)
Hello Jocarra, I came across this a little bit ago and thought I'd let you know about it, i'm thinking someone jacked your pic.

Oh, yes, I know about that one. Unfortunately, there are so many things like that out there, I'm not sure if I can get all of them. So for the most part, I've decided not to care about harmless edits and reposts - I only care if it's being used for commercial reasons.
But yes, thank you very much for letting me know, I always appreciate people looking out for artists!

Heh, I got over it. It does bother me some people are selling products with it on it, but there are just too many for me to really track down. I guess I just figured the only thing to do now is just resign myself to enjoying my little bit of internet "fame" :b
Glad you like the image, cheers!

Hey there! Haha, thanks so much :) This was originally posted on deviantArt in 2005 - Dragon Dance and Wolf Mates were and are still my most popular images. http://www.furaffinity.net/view/622117/
