'So this is what mortals do for fun? Seems so... boring.'
Angela couldn't help her thoughts as she wandered through the store, glancing at the garish displays and cartoonish figures proclaiming how great a 'deal' something was. Money was a strange concept to her. Or perhaps, 'foreign' was the right word here? Being a deity (admittedly, only a demi-goddess instead of a full one), she could just will something to be there if she wanted it, and things like food or sleep were a nonissue. She couldn't even say she needed praise; despite what some mortals thought, deities didn't subsist on their exaltations of them and their power. It helped, no question, but if deities needed mortal praise, they wouldn't have been able to make them in the first place.
The roughly twelve foot tall Absol/Arceus hybrid dropped her idle musings on the nature of the relationship between deities and mortals as she reached the electronics section, specifically stopping in front of the televisions. She knew what they were; while not omniscient (that power was reserved for true deities), she had been living among mortals long enough to get a grasp on a few things related to them.
Just a few, though.
That was the crux of both her trip to the store, and why she was currently living among mortals in the first place. Her mother had insisted that Angela learn how to understand mortals, at least in a broad sense, and the easiest way to do so was live as one. The only problem, as a relatively young demi-deity but with all the power that entailed, she had no frame of reference for what mortals should be capable of.
She effortlessly lifted up a big screen television box, roughly the size of her abdomen. Only the general aura of 'don't pay too much attention to me' she maintained at a subconscious level to prevent people from realizing her divine nature kept everyone from dropping their own purchases to stare in awe at this casual feat of strength.
It was short lived, though; as she set the box back down a moment later. Television was another thing she had no need of; she could call up a viewing window for similar effect in the event she wanted something to watch, and even that was unlikely. Speaking of short lived, Angela finally decided to leave the mall as well, deciding she was too bored here to effectively learn anything about how mortals worked. Maybe she could check out some battles, or some of these 'movies' that she had heard so much about, or-
CRASH!
Angela blinked as several screams of shock and even fright rang out. She glanced behind her, and was met with the sight of a set of ruined doors and a completely demolished concrete sphere that had been in her path. She blinked several times, then it clicked. "Ohhhhhh, right..." she muttered to herself. "I was supposed to duck there." Another moment passed, before Angela shrugged and snapped her fingers. Reality shifted and reworked itself, and the damage she'd just caused was undone. "Mortals make things so fragile," Angela mused under her breath before continuing on.
She still had to figure out what she was going to do next.
Commission I got from
itchigo-icetalons quite a while back but am only just now getting around to uploading.
Basically serves as an 'introduction' of sorts to my Absol/Arceus character Angela (seen here: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/48262458 ). Basically trying to give an idea of what I'm hoping to do with her. She's a demigoddess who has very little idea of what mortals are actually capable of, but is trying to live among them by pretending she's a college girl. However, as you can tell with this snippet, she has only the vaguest idea of what that means; mostly in regards to physical strength, but given she's in a Pokemon setting, likely in other ways too.
Anyway, hope you like it.
