Just wanted to introduce around a few of the characters from a comic book project I'm going to start working on soon and maybe discuss a small bit about the universe.
First off we have the main character of the comic book, Veronica. Veronica is the daughter of the (fictional) angel, Gabrielle, and Cisten Trest, who was murdered by a man named Tyr long ago. She has two siblings: Aspar (sister), and Johnathan (brother and working name). Being the daughter of a celestial creature, Veronica does not age and cannot die by sickness or the deprevation of most mortal needs. She can be killed, however, though it would take extreme measures to achieve this. In the beginning of the comic Veronica does not realize her true potential or power and lives a fairly modest life as a police officer. This all comes to an abrupt end, however, when she answers a call over the dispatch for all availible units to report to a local mental health facility where a rather unusual scene is taking place. Inside she encounters someone from her long forgotten past and finds herself desperately fleeing for her life. Her begins from there.
Gabrielle is the most convoluted character in the entire story. She's also my absolute favorite character of mine. She is the main villain of the comic and mother of Veronica, Aspar, and Johnathan. Her mortal lover and husband, Trest, was murdered two millenia ago and from then on she has not been the same. Her past and present are fraut with tragedy, pain, and suffering and to write her down in this description would take a lot of room.
Aerus King was once the life long best friend of Veronica's father, Trest, and once a loyal servant of Gabrielle. Upon Trest's deathbed, King accepted the task of looking over Trest and Gabrielle's three children. To ensure that his task could be fulfilled properly, Gabrielle marked him with her power and a portion of her blood - this grant him a form of immortality. After Gabrielle's descent into madness and great war against humanity, the three (now grown) children became seperated from one another and their guardian, King. Throughout the centuries King has sought for the children of his best friend in order to uphold his oath, but their presence always eludes or escapes him. Until now... Also, the massive sword he carries is known as "Groot Gewicht", or "great weight" in Dutch.
Hyena is the fammiliar and madman of mighty legion of Gabrielle's modern forces. Blessed with horrifying power by Gabrielle, Hyena lovingly adores his mistress and longs for the mark of immortality and favor that she sometimes bestows to those in her service. Dangerous and wild, Hyena is unpredictable and should never be underestimated - especiallly with that look in his eyes.
And lastly, we come to Demarcus. As old as any of the heros and villains and as powerful, if not superior to his late master, the sorcerrer Tyr, Demarcus relies on archaic, arcane powers conjuered and captured through spells and years of disciplined study. Older and far more powerful than any magi prior to him, Demarcus has achieved a mystical status far and beyond anything his predecessors could have ever hoped to harness and this is largely in part to his service to Gabrielle during her wars against humanity nearly three thousand years ago. Demarcus was killed during the final conflict of the by the allied forces that came against Gabrielle, but his powers were so great by then that he had already set in stone his immortality - a feat no mortal has ever claimed through personal will. At the price of his own soul, Demarcus was blessed through a pact that his body would live forever and continue on with his will and ambitions until either being completely destroyed or the world collapsed.
He is a fearsome individual and no one is entirely sure just who's side he really is on. Once a good man turned evil in his service to Gabrielle, Demarcus abandoned his mistress shortly after the great war's end. Some even believe he may have turned against her, but no one can be certain.
Well that was long! Hope you enjoy the images! =D
