[What if Joey took the ring and became a dog instead of Eduardo?]

So story-wise, this wouldn’t be possible due to Joey being a werewolf long before Eduardo found the cursed canine ring in the forest. If Joey wasn’t a werewolf way back when, he wouldn’t have to run from his sister Annie to protect her from his feral self, nor would Joey have met Mina during his werewolf episodes. Along with that, with Joey possessing the ring, what would happen to Eduardo? Would he just be a normal human being doing normal human things? (Hey, that rhymed. Ha ha!) I mean, there’s Werewolf Eduardo, but that was due to Joey being a werewolf and bit him on accident. Maybe some other werewolf would bite Ed later down the line (probably Doyle would clumsily bite him on accident). But I digress.

So anyways, with Eduardo not being the Old English Sheepdog we all know and Joey possessing the ring, I figured that Jo would transform into something that is Shaggy-Adjacent… A Leonberger Dog! It makes perfect sense because those dogs are HUGE! And they almost look like lions too? Sold! They might be my second favorite breed of dogs next to sheepdogs. (I do like Pomeranians too, but uh… nevermind.)

Honestly, Joey would make huge strides being a weredog—causing harmless mischief while making sure people he cares about are safe and sound. Heck, he would be the type to work at a ranch and use his curse to his advantage (gotta make money somehow). That’s quite the contrast compared to Eduardo, don’t you think?
