The actual painting looks manky because I had worked it earlier with the default Krita manual values for it but after observing actual brush in Corel Painter and adjusting the fake version in Krita I managed to make it much more weakly, controllably blending (blending more like a beveled rectangular edge rather than a spherical) and with less 'paint' on the tip of the brush.
