When I was back on FF14 for a while during Shadowbringers and Endwalker, I started developing the Hrothgar version of Grynn as a character, and he ended up developing into his entirely own person during the process. Despite him still having the name Grynn, the Hrothgar "version" of him is completely different from the Charr in many aspects while maintaining some of the themes that I played with in my 'sona's story.

In this case, HrothGrynn started off as an innocent, naive adventurer with an unabated passion for exploring the world and meeting new people. Having been sequestered away for most of his life deep within the Gridanian woods after his father escaped Garlean-occupied Bozja and being separate from his mother in the process, as well as having a deep gap in his memory of his childhood, Grynn eventually sought off into the world to look for her and hopefully learn more about himself in the process. At an early stage, he was tremendously aetherically gifted but didn't know how to harness that strength until he met the people who would eventually come to form a guild called the Guardians of the Zephyr Winds... or Zephyr for short.

It was a guild of actual friends who used to RP together on the game, and I DM'd some of HrothGrynn's story to act as a means to give everyone a chance to develop their own stories with his development and enigmatic family history as the backdrop to move events forward. Unfortunately, I never did get a chance to complete his arc, but the stuff I've done with him has been deeply important and memorable regardless.
