I wanted to post the best from my first serious drawing session. I'm sure you all don't want to see the tons of failure circles I drew, so enjoy this picture of a boy's head.
I won't deny that Rei98 is an influence here, though I don't necessarily want to follow his artstyle. He's been a great coach, though; he taught me basic face structure, particularly in reference to the style I'd like to evolve into. So, yes, you can expect that by the time I'm more-refined my style will still be similar.
This is my first serious foray into drawing, let alone digital drawing. I bought the tablet because the price is right, and I have a few un-busy weeks to learn and practice during. I excelled in art during grade school, and drew comics and illustrations for my school newspaper, but that was all a long time ago (way to make me sound old, self). I haven't actually drawn anything in years. As gradeschool-esque as it looks drawing this image has really encouraged me; it was the first exercise I'd done without being talked through how to make a face.
I'm having fun with this, and that, in the end, is the important part.
I debated posting this, as I'm not really looking for ego-stroking (though compliments are nice lol), but I wanted to share my first real attempt with friends and watchers. So, enjoy!
