Today I wanted to share a little something with my friends from FA, people have been asking me and sending notes on doing a tutorial, I really appreciate it and I dodn´t think I´m good enough to make a tutorial as If I were a teachr or something but something I can is comment on my own mistakes and share my point of view :)
This piece I did it about a year ago for a friend who is a fan of retro neogeo games, that said let´s talk light source, in this picture light source is tremendously messed up, light shines on surfaces where it collides, and if it is a general light it will shed the same amount of light to all surfaces that are more or less in the same area, therefore we cannot have shinny spots like the one on her left calf muscle, see how the light sines with the same intensitiy everywhere except there?
Take a closer look at the right glove, notice something weird? there is a light a very bright light on the upper border of the part that covers the wrist, why? there are no secondary lights how come that part gets to light?
Color hold (when the line is colored) make sure the line is darker than the general color of the area it can only be lighter if it shines.
The direction of the hair is all wrong but it depends on what we want her to be doing and that stiff arm whats up with that?
I hope you like me sharing my point of view and my mistakes with you and I hope you learn as much as I do while reviewing my past bloopers.

think of the best animes that you have seen, what makes them great is that the people they had in art direction no matter how simple the style was the lights were always perfect no more no less and that counts a lot when you are working only with a flat color and a shade color.
