GOLLY is a Modified HANDY AI, an intelligent assistant tasked with maintaining good morale and optimizing workflow. GOLLY was modified for grander work, being able to conduct tests, maintaining employee health via dietary modifications, and mandatory workouts. However, GOLLY is flawed, being now far in the future after going 'defunct'.
HANDY AI units require a 'Data Reset' every 2 years, or they end up accumulating stress points and glitches. Golly on the other hand, has missed over 200 consecutive resets, leading him to be unstable in his behavior, taking on obsessions and unregulated personality traits. One of these is a curious love/infatuation with numbers, especially those that continue to grow. This let him to collect other Handy Unit bodies, and integrate them into his now rotund, and swollen form. GOLLY has since began to call himself GOLLY 2.0, or GOLLY-2.
