In a way that's cool, but it would suck too. When I got Sergeant I got stuck behind a desk, "Training NCO". Rarely had to go to the field but at the same time almost never got out of the office. The field sucks when you're there every week, sometimes for weeks on end, but at the same time you start to miss it and being able to do some of the crazier shit when you never go. Then again I was a Cannon Cocker not a Grunt.
Arty is cool.
I love being in the dirt for monts at a time. It helps make a person difine who they are. All I need is a couple good books and some music then I am good. For me... the feild is where I'd rather be than in the barracks It's not that I love camping... it just the sence of knowing I can do it. The more time I spend in the dirt the more comfortable I feel knowing I can survive in the wilderness or what ever terrain I am in. It just sucks when it doesn't stop raining
