South of Aurelia, there's a neighbouring island called Aesisca. Inhabited by tribal sharks, the auranans (mainly females) travel to the island to find a sharkfolk male to mate with due to male auranans were hard to come by before the 70s.

Due to auranans and sharkfolk sharing similar DNA, there was a 50% that an auranan would birth a sharkfolk offspring. Which resulted some auranans remaining in Aesisca to maintain the Aesiscan sharkfolk population.

For Orianne, she fell in love with a sharkfolk tribal, mated with him, and gave birth to two daughters. Sadly, her lover died protecting his Orianne and their daughters from pirates.
