My friends and I fished a canal near a local marina yesterday afternoon. We caught panfish and catfish using perch rigs with crawlers as bait. I caught the most perch, but they were all too small and released. The Blue Channel Catfish weighed in at almost five pounds. It was a great day to be outdoors. Clear, calm, moderate temperature, and partial overcast. One could look across Saginaw Bay to see the sludge island and the powerplant in Essexville.
