Among all the gods from Tera, Hinaku is probably the most... different.
She looks different. She is not a four winged dragon. She has a very different kind of magic. Her origins are completely unknown. Where she is born, how she is born and where she comes from are all an utter mystery...
And yet... not a lot of persons are aware of her existence, as she rarely shows herself. She lives among people. And more often than not, they do not realize they just said "good evening" to a god!
It was during the Grand Draconic War Hinaku's existence was unveiled. As the army of the Light wanted to enslate the entire world, Hinaku decided to protect a large town.
While the dragons were about to launch their assaults, and while the people living there were hopeless... the Moon took the colors of Amethyst... and suddenly, the dragons were deprived of their powers.
They were weakened. They were immobilized... and when they looked up, the silhouette of a large serpent was visible, on the purple moon.
It was the last thing they have seen. So much Light completely gave up on this very town.
She bestowed them with her divine presence. First as her lindwyrm form. But eventually, she perfectly bent among the townfolks, actually living alongside them with another form!
And for years, she protected this town zealously!
...alas, rumors eventually begun to spread, about how tyranic she was with the townfolks. Rumors about how she was taking their wealth and enslaved them.
Nobody knows whether the rumors were true. But when calm restaured as the Light gave up attacking this town, groups of hunters eventually begun to form, to slay the wyrm.
They abused of her trust to try to assassinate her... and failed.
She lived this sudden assault on her life like an utter betrayal! Her wrath was unparalleled, she casted an catastrophic curse on the town, forcing the entire place to its doom...
... and left. Abandoning them for good.
Nobody lives to tell the tale, now, as all what remains is a ghost town.
Hunters who were not there eventually found the town... abandonned. It was not damaged.
The structures were intact. But not even a mouse was living there anymore.
The Lady of the Moon returned in heavens and disappeared after the betrayal... until she bestowed another world with her purple glow.
She eventually found a crashed Tahi ship in the middle of a swamp. Curious about what this odd device was, she investigated it...
what a surprise it has been for her when she found a Tahi egg!
With the parents being gone, Hinaku couldn't help but to take the egg... and she rose the Tahi like if he was her own child.
She was incredibly motherly to him. She was playing with him, feeding him, she even taught him things.
Unfortunately, she was too scared the hunters would find her once more. Not for her... but for her adopted son! And so, when the Tahi was big enough, she decided to bring him back to his kind.
Using the data in the crashed ship, she could locate the Tahi homeworld and traveled there using her magic.
But... she was not ready to show herself to the Tahis. She was scared of their reaction, especially if some of them were wyrm hunters. When she returned the kid, she simply made the Tahis find him aboard their ship... under mysterious circumstances.
Réni inquired the Tahi a lot of times to get information about his mom. But the descriptions he received were... awry. Broken. Conflicting...
Like if the memory of the young Tahi was overwhelmed with too many information at once...
... because Hinaku kept transforming. She kept changing shapes. She kept taking new ones to amuse and take good care of him! Leaving so many to talk about he failed to make proper descriptions.
But there is one sentence he clearly knows...
The kid told Réni. He didn't want to loose her. And she said:
"Do not worry, my child. I'll always be with you. I'll always be watching over you."
... and this sentence has never been so literal. She has always been watching over him. She is following the Tahi fleet, everytimes transforming into space objects of all kinds. Asteroids, comets, sometimes just dust...
And one day transformed as a literal moon!
Nobody saw her. Tahis even investigated the surface of... herself, like if she was a normal moon and... made surprising discoveries.
Reports documented about how a rock... transformed one of the Tahis into something else! Which... sure tickled the attention of a particular dragoness who decided to get one for herself.
But none of them know. They are not found. They are gifted.
They are a gift from the Lady of The Moon who decided to bestow a blessing to the people she grows attached to.
And now... maybe she gets comfortable enough to actually show herself to them?
After so many years, time has erroded memories enough for hunters to forget about the forsaken goddess, for her to start anew once more.
Size: 5.6 meters from feet to top of shoulders, for 44.8 meters long.
Magic:
Hinaku sports unparalleled moon (transformation) magic. There is nothing she cannot transform into... or transform another into.
She is capable of generating water and wind. She uses the latter for flight.
She has strong space magic, which allows herself to drift in space, and to create portals at will.
She happens to be a Light Goddess, but the nature of her light can be classified as "cursed" and "eldritch".
Temperament:
Haughty and rude. She often looks down at people around her, which gives her a very severe aura. She can even talk low of them if she really dislikes them.
Yet, she actually hides a heart of gold and can be remarkably caring towards anyone she gets attached to.
She shows a remarkable indifference when she transforms someone she doesn't like. It may be into ridicule things.
However, she shows actual eagerness to make people discover new bodies, and can even offer them to make it permanant or half-permanant. When she goes along with people, she may show a playful behavior about this.
Likes:
Hinaku likes to remain unseen. She loves to bend among people, to turn into their kind, or sometimes simply as objects. It's not impossible to have a table stalking you.
She finds mortal lives fascinating and loves to observe them.
She secretly loves ear rubs but will act like she doesn't, often threatening with ridicule "punishments".
She also loves to try new foods and can be seen sometimes turning mundane rocks into stuff she liked to have more.
Dislikes:
She dislikes loud people and crowds.
She shows a surprising bitterness toward the other gods from Tera, and refuses to explain why.
Special traits:
Is it unknown whether the "Crescent Moon" is a title, the name of a clan she's part of, or a prolungation of her name she added just for her own pride.
There is nearly no limits with what she can do with her moon magic. She can turn herself or others into almost anything she would like. Only Chaos can impair her magic.
She has a very good nose and can actually howl like a wolf.
When she is around, the moon will always be purple no matter if it's the day or the night.
However, the moon doesn't actually TURN purple. It's more an illusion caused by her aura, that bends the light around her. Someone in space, or very far away from her, will not see the moon changing color.
Since it's an illusion, should she come in a world without a moon, the illusion of a moon will be visible in the skies.
Whenever she uses her moon magic, her mane and eyes will glow. The stronger her spell, the brighter it goes.
She insists being called "Lady" Hinaku. But when inquired why, she refuses to elaborate.
She is nocturnal. While she can be awake during the day, she will look more tired.
