Maybe I'll do more with this character

Story below

I started up my computer and opened up my messaging program. I was glad to see that my friend Scott was on. I even let out a small hiss in my good mood but caught myself and stopped. I opened up a chat window with him and started typing.
Leon: Hey Scott
Leon: I take it since you’re on you haven’t peaked yet?
Scott: Not yet. Any day now
Leon: I see
I breathed a sigh of relief. I was kind of worried what Scott would turn into.
Scott: So what’s up?
We talked a little bit. Mainly harmless subjects like video games and books but then he asked the inevitable.
Scott: Do you want to talk about your change?
I shivered a little and checked my portable heater. It was set fairly high and I set it a bit higher.
Leon: Not today.
I replied like usual. I sighed again and rubbed a clawed hand against my temples. I said bye and shut off the computer again. My yellow eyes and reptilian muzzle reflected on the screen. I closed the screen and uncoiled and slithered to my bed. I pulled myself onto it and stared at the ceiling and remembered.
==================3 months ago=================
I sat on the bed of the doctor’s office. I knew the reason I was there and I was expecting what the doctor would tell me. I looked over at my parents. My father, a rabbit Anima, and my mother, A goshawk Anima, sitting in chairs waiting with me. The doctor came in and announced, “Leon has Anima. He’s expected to peak soon”. No matter how much you prepare to hear those words they still come like a punch to the gut.
==================Present day===================
A gentle knock on the door roused me from my memories. “Leon. It’s time for dinner” My mother said through the door. I yawn and hiss a little in confirmation. That was a rather unfortunate side effect of my change. I lost the ability to speak beyond hissing. I got off the bed and slithered off to the dining room. It was just us four again, my parents, my younger sister who hasn’t peaked yet, and myself. It was Chinese again and after I finished I excused myself and headed back to my bedroom. I got back it bed and threw a blanket on me. It didn’t take long for my heated bed to lull me to sleep.
==================2 months ago==================
I was at school, in P.E. to be more specific. It was a normal day up until then. I just felt a pain all over me. I couldn’t even cry out until I fell over from it. I heard students start to say things. “Oh my God! He fell over!” “Quick get the nurse” “Is he going to be alright?” “What’s happening to him?” They start to fade and blend until I lost consciousness from the pain.
I woke up what I later discovered to be almost a week in a hospital. The first thing I felt when I woke up was cold. I shivered and opened my eyes to see a reptilian-esque muzzle in my field of vision. I knew then that I peaked and must have changed. I was covered in light blue scales like the hospital sheets. I felt part of me touching the cold floor and thought it was my tail. I was partially right. I managed to get off the bed and stand up. I looked at a mirror and let out a hiss of surprise. The first thing I noticed is that from the waist down I was a mighty snake an anaconda or a really big python. Someone might describe it as being a naga. From the waist up I was a Komodo Dragon and my scales changed from a light blue to a white color to match the wall and floor. I must have had some chameleon in me somewhere. I was a chimera and the three animal mix one at that. They were rare and bordered on Oddity. A nurse came in and saw that I was up. “You shouldn’t be up” She said, “Get back in the bed”. I tried to explain myself but all that came out of my mouth was a series of hisses.
=======================Present day=======================
I woke up from my dream of the past. I sighed and saw that it was noon. I thought about and decided to tell Scott about my change. How I felt about the changes and that I was lucky he was there for me. I slithered to my computer and quickly turned it on. I opened the chat program only to find he wasn’t on. He peaked and I never told him about my changes…
