A rushed pic I drew of my new D&D character, a Noctisylph (homebrew moth race) Astral Self Monk named Velastra. They spent their childhood distracted, gazing at stars and lost in thoughts thinking about the stories they tell. While still young, Yuan-Ti attacked their colony, and they and three other noctisylph were led away by an elder, taking to the seas on a ceremonial boat despite their kind not being a seafaring people. Over time, they grew accustomed to the seas, using their knowledge of the stars to guide their way with surprising ability. Each port, they would busk by telling these stories of the stars and weaving elaborate choreographed dances to represent the tales of tragedy and heroics. In time, these stories seemed to take a life of their own as Velastra's scales sparkled like stars to embody the figures in each tale, coming to aid in all-too-frequent encounters with thieves and pirates in the night.
