The first week of school had been long, tedious and busy. The students were given several new assignments for the week ahead. As well as homework.



Stephanie was one of many already feeling the exhaustion.



On Friday morning, she met with her best friend Heather out in the hallway.



"You look really beat this morning," she said. "Like, really beat."



Stephanie sighed. "I am. My parents had me studying hard last night. After finishing my current event."



"Same here," said Heather. "Just the start of another year, I guess."



"Not only that," said Stephanie, "but I've got a slight headache."



"Go see the nurse," said Heather. "She'll give you some aspirin. Or yet... hang on."



Heather pulled out her necklace. It had a small quartz hanging from it.



Stephanie stared in awe. "Is that a real crystal?"



"It sure is," replied Heather. "Not just any crystal, but a healing crystal. It helps reduce stress and brings clarity, as well as enlightenment."



Stephanie laughed. "Seriously?"



"You don't believe me? I'll show you."



Heather undid her necklace and handed it to Stephanie.



"It's beautiful, Heather. Thanks."



"Don't mention it. Give it a shot. It just might help."



Stephanie put on the necklace and tuck the crystal in her shirt. She could almost feel its power.



The bell rang and Stephanie and Heather hurried off to class.
