Here's a scenario I find likely to have happened before the epilogue of The Bad Guys 2.
The Bad Guys had been through quite a lot recently. They had been blackmailed, foiled a heist in space and survived a spaceship crash. Now they were in need of long needed rest before starting their new lives as secret agents.
Wolf was glad he and his friends were getting a second chance at life, but he still couldn't help but question how he and his friends even survived the crash in the first place. But he took his mind off it when he noticed Diane tearfully moping. When he went to check on her, he asked "Diane, care to tell me what's wrong?" Diane sniffled, "No, everything's fine. I'm just-- (sigh) Of course not." As the rest of the crew entered the room, Diane explained "It's Kitty. I can't believe she did this." "Hey," Wolf said, "think nothing of it. She's not our problem anymore. She messed with us and we messed with her in return. She got what she deserved." "I thought she would see things the way I do, the way they're supposed to be. But I suppose some people can just never change," Diane continued. "Diane, we changed," Shark reminded her. "and so have Doom and Pigtail." Wolf continued, "Kitty can't hurt us anymore. And depending on how long her sentence is, Kitty won't be bothering us again any time soon. But if she does come back, we'll be ready for her."
Diane was moved by Wolf's confidence, but she still continued to mope, "It doesn't matter in the long run. Now that everyone knows I'm the Crimson Paw, my days as governor are over. Now I'm in for a lifetime of nightmares." "Diane," Wolf said as he wrapped his right arm around her, "I must admit that I too have occasionally had nightmares of my past life. And so have Pepe, Louis, Cedric and Tara. Right, guys?" The rest of the crew nodded in agreement. "But we keep telling ourselves that it doesn't matter anymore. It's all in the past. Besides, you were the Crimson Paw, but not anymore. And there's a whole lot more to being a hero than being a governor. We're secret agents now. We can make the world a better place. But we can't do it without you." "You know, you're right," Diane said, seemingly perking up. "I can make the world a better place. And I can do so by making sure that I'm actually dead!" As she said this, she pulled out an opioid bottle, intent on ingesting the whole thing. "NOOO!!!" the whole crew screamed. Wolf embraced Diane harder after she made this disturbing announcement. Then Snake took the bottle and threw it out the window.
Once all was calm, Wolf was about to share words of comfort and encouragement, but he decided to let each of his friends do that, starting with Snake. "Diane," he said, "I know the feeling. We've all done things in life that we're not proud of, but actually committing suicide isn't the answer." Shark spoke up next. "Whether you're governor or not, you're still capable of doing great deeds." Yeah," Piranha chimed in, "Among all the good you've done, you financially supported the construction of a new orphanage." "And" said Tarantula, "defended century old forests from deforestation." "Provided aid for folks affected by wildfires," added Shark. "Finacially supported every known disease research center", added Snake. "And," Wolf finished, "You helped a group of crooks change their ways."
Diane built up a smile, but she still had doubts in herself. But Wolf continued on as he said "You always believed we were capable of turning over a new leaf, even when others doubted it. Hell, even we doubted in ourselves. But if you could give up crime life, so could we."
Wolf and Diane both hugged each other as the former continued "We're with you all the way, Diane. You supported us, so we're supporting you." Diane was so moved by this, she kissed Wolf again just before Shark said out loud, "Group hug!" And the whole crew piled atop the bed for one huge group hug. And Diane started to feel better and more confident knowing that her friends were going to continue supporting her through whatever hard times life had in store for them. And though her governor days were certainly over, her days of doing hero work overall were not.
Before everyone drifted off to sleep, Wolf complimented, "You still looked good in that suit though."
