Shiny and her three cubs have started the long journey to White Deer Park late at night, her cubs are big enough to move around during their long journey. But the journey would probably be quite hard and a great trial, because the road to where they are going is right on the other side of the mountain with lots of stones and rocks. They ate some voles and birds, as they learned all about hunting from their mother, Shiny. Then they rested before they can continue.
It's not as easy as Shiny had imagined, but they have to make it all the way to Farthing Land. There, Shiny's daughter, Russet, is probably waiting. They did quite well in their long walks in the forests, but one day, just late at night, when they finally got to the mountain, it started to thunder so terribly and it rained so heavily. But both Shiny and her cubs could not find any suitable resting place nearby, they are pretty short of time too.
They had to continue on through the mountain during the rainy night. They soon pass by that area with lots of rocky cliffs and large rocks are at the highest peak. But as soon as everyone thought they had made it through, something strange happens. A huge lightning bolt from the sky flashed and thundered very big, but when the lightning thundered for the second time, it hit the top of the cliff and suddenly the whole mountain started to shake.
It became a terrible avalanche, as all the rocks fell down at once and are heading towards the four gray foxes down there. Shiny gaped in sheer terror and urged her cubs to hurry as fast as they could. All four gray foxes had to hurry away from there and use the powers they have on their four legs. But after a while, all the rockfall has finally stopped. One who had woken up among the rocks, was the little gray vixen with a pair of black ears - Silvia.
She noticed that she is all alone, she had to look for her mother and siblings. But she could not find where they are, until she finally found her mother, but to her shock, she was lying under the large and flat stone cliffs on her back and was a dying vixen. Silvia quickly ran to try to help her, but Shiny was stuck under the stone and can not get free. But she was still conscious yet and Silvia's eyes filled with tears of relief.
Silvia: "You'll be fine, mom! You have to be fine!"
Shiny: "No, Silvia..! I don't have much time left now... ahh... You have to find your siblings, Silvia..."
Silvia: "I don't know where they are. I'm alone."
Shiny: "Dear, Silvia... Aaah...! Going to White Deer Park... and looking for your big sister, Russet... Aahh... Tell them everything that happened..."
Silvia: "I don't want to go alone without you, mother!"
Silvia lay down in front of her dying mother and nuzzled her cheek as softly as possible to comfort Shiny as much as possible. But Shiny felt that her time was almost up and smiled with pride over her beloved youngest daughter with tears in the corners of her eyes.
Shiny: "Mmm... You will never be alone, my dear Silvia... You will never be alone... Tell Russet that my last thoughts... ah... went to her... and I will always be in your hearts... ah... and I love you... aaaooouuhh..."
Shiny's eyes slowly closed, finally she was just gone. Silvia cried quite desperately and tried to wake her mother up, but it didn't go so well at all. Everything feels hopeless. Silvia stayed with her mother for a while, until she felt it was time to do as Shiny asked and continue her trek to White Deer Park. But the question is how will she find her way there? It didn't take long, until at dawn the next morning, two foxes appeared from the mountain area.
They were also on their way to White Deer Park, but by pure chance, they found a little gray fox cub on the road, still crying from her closed eyes and sleeping. She woke up to a soft nuzzling on her right cheek. Her eyelids opened a little, her vision was a little blurry at first, until it became clear and distinct and she discovered a very beautiful bright orange vixen with a pair of black ear tips. It is the beautiful Windy, and by her side her beloved dark brown fox, Swift.
Windy: "How are you, little friend?"
Silvia raised her head from her front leg that she had been using as a pillow and sobbed so sadly at Windy's question. Windy notices that it is not as it should be. Especially not if a little fox cub is completely alone in the middle of nowhere in the nearby mountains.
Windy: "What happened? And why aren't you with your family?"
Silvia: "I have nothing..! My mother and my siblings are gone, missing, dead! And it's all my grandfather's fault! If he hadn't beaten my mother, we would never have escaped from the other blue and gray foxes' pack..!"
Then it ended with Silvia crying again. Both Windy and Swift looked at each other and were completely dumbfounded and curious at the same time. Then Silvia gave her a few comforting licks on her right cheek and tried to comfort her and get her to calm down from all the crying.
Windy: "Oh, don't cry so much, poor little one. We're your friends. I am Windy, and this dark brown fox is my mate, Swift. And we'll do anything and everything for you. If you feel like you wanted to talk to someone, right?"
Silvia calmed down a bit from all the crying and feels very comforted by the caring vixen's soft and kind voice. After she felt a little calmer, both Swift and Windy asked the little gray fox a lot of questions.
Swift: "Who are you the daughter of?"
Windy: "And where do you come from?"
Silvia: "From Silver's pack. I'm Silvia, daughter of Shiny, my mother. I'm on my way to Farthing land, to meet my big sister, Russet, who lives with her mate, Friendly - son of the famous Fox from Farthing Wood."
Swift: "Really? I never would have thought that."
Windy: "Silvia, is that your name?"
Silvia: "Yes... and I'm alone... sob! sob!"
Windy: "Oh, poor little friend. I understand how you feel. But do you know what? I know Friendly so well."
Silvia: "Do you?"
Windy: "Yes, of course. He's my uncle. And we're also on our way home to Farthing land, which is in White Deer Park. Do you want to come with us?"
Silvia: "Really? Can I come with you there?"
Windy: "Yeah, sure. If you're Russet's sister, it's obvious you have to come with us. Besides, we can never leave you out here alone, right?"
Silvia: "No, of course. Anything can happen out here in this no-man's land. And I'm really glad to meet you, Windy. And you too, Swift. How lucky I am."
Swift: "Mhm, exactly. It's probably best if we hurry. We'll be there within the next two days at least."
Silvia got up on all fours and had to wipe tears from her eyes. The three of them walked all the way to White Deer Park, Silvia had to walk between the two fox couples, since they had several questions to ask Silvia.
Swift: "How come you're out here alone, what happened to your mother and your siblings, anyway?"
Silvia: "It's a long story."
Windy: "We've got a long way to go, so talk about everything you know, my dear little friend."
Silvia told Swift and Windy about her grandfather's most evil plans and that Tyran and Blaze have agreed to cooperate and gain power over White Deer Park seriously. She also told about Silver giving her mother a hard slap on her left cheek with his right front paw, after Shiny defied Silver's threats against Russet and Ranger.
Silvia's story makes Swift's memory of his past come back, when he himself was a prisoner of the evil blue and gray foxes, when he was a young fox cub, but managed to escape from there and almost escaped at the railroad tracks, when he was chased by the blue fox troop who became cunning and outwitted. But his memory disappeared when he heard Windy's shouts and he just shook his head and just said.
Swift: "Huh?! What's that about, Windy?"
Windy: "It's terrible if the blue and gray foxes come back to White Deer Park and destroy all my family, relatives, friends and everything! We really have to tell my grandfather and my brother everything when we get home to my birthplace."
Swift: "Calm down, Windy! We'll get to White Deer Park in time, at least before Silver and his fox pack. I just hope I feel honored to meet your father's parents too."
Windy: "You certainly will. And so does my grandfather, I hope."
All three foxes walked and walked together all the way to Farthing land and really wanted to hope that they would arrive in time. The red foxes in Farthing land still don't know anything about what has happened outside the nature reserve, since they have already had problems with both Tyran and Blaze a little earlier, especially when one of the blue and gray foxes tried to kill old Fox, or that one of Plucky's and Scarlet's cubs has been seriously injured during the defensive battle.
