Here is a tool I made based on a spring body clamp rule that fixes to the anvil.
The spring body was seen in this video for an anvil ruler. https://youtu.be/j6b6txrWaK0
I've talked with the smith in the video and he liked my modification that I made to his anvil rule and said he'll do a video on making this water can holder as well.
The main purpose of this fixture is to hold a can of water right near the anvil so that it doesn't fall, get knocked over, or somehow isn't easily accessible.
Keeping a can of water near by is necessary to a blacksmith when cutting hot steel or punching holes in the metal. It
is good to keep the edge of the tool cool so it doesn't soften from the heat and loses its functionality.
My drawings showed forge welded construction, but I opted to use rivets instead for an easier assembly.
