To exist or to vanish. Part2
Grey sat in his father's study looking at the gun safe where his father, retired 82nd airborne paratrooper, kept his guns. Grey took a deep breath and stood up, taking slow steps to the safe and pulled the door key from his pocket. With a shaking hand the wolf slowly slid the key inside and unlocked the safe.
The latch inside made a loud ‘clack’ and the door slowly opened. Grey felt as if the gates of heavens armory had just opened. Inside laid a 12 gauge belt fed Remington shot gun. He hefted the gun up into his arms, and realized it was too heavy for him to carry or shoot; he’d probably hurt himself just trying to load the thing.
He took a deep breath, having wanted to ignore his father when he constantly lectured him about how fur kind would eventually destroy itself somehow. Grey moved the shot gun away and set it on the floor, revealing a Winchester lever action rifle and a box of 50 .32 caliber rounds. Grey smiled, having always loved cowboy movies and picked up the rifle, racking the lever and ejecting the dummy round his father put in all of his guns to prevent an accident. The dark metallic weapon felt good in his hands and gave Grey a sense of safety.
Grey set the rifle at his side and reached into the safe pulling out a gasmask. He put it over his head; luckily it had room for him to wear his glasses. He proceeded in pulling out several packets of MRE's, the military meals would last grey a while since they were nonperishable. Once greys other food was eaten or spoiled, grey would use his MRE's.
Grey reached the last of the objects inside the safe that where of value to him. First was a handgun, a 9mm CZ85 Ruger. Second a 38 revolver, three air canisters for his gas mask, each providing him with about three to four hours of filtration. Grey took stock of these then began preparing to leave.
…
Schirachi was out of his driveway and driving to an early morning class at tech school downtown. As he drove closer to town he noticed more and more cars abandoned on the side of the road, piles of clothing or things like metal implants, fake legs and dentures littered the sidewalks. Schirachi turned on his radio and caught a news bulletin, "I don't know where everyone is, those things came out of nowhere, again this is Kent Mansley at KCD radio news, at this time if anyone can hear us something has happened and these things that are like shadows… are eating people. This is like something out of Steven king, but its real...oh god, the lights… Oh god they're inside!!"
Schirachi could hear gunshots over the radio and the radioman in a quivering voice rush words into the microphone, "ok guns have only a little effect on them, their weakness is light! Any light source!" and just like that it went quiet, not even a scream of death. Schirachi turned his car around and started driving home, "fuck and it was finals week!" He sped down past the deserted main street.
…
Cody stood outside his house shirtless, and a 357 shoved into the back of his pants. He paced around nervously, trying to figure out what had happened only an hour ago. The living shadow that attacked him seemed to be partially immune to bullets but not to sunlight, and the fact that he'd shot six times and has yet to hear police sirens surprised the shepherd. As he paced around he felt a sudden terror as he wondered whether his girlfriend was ok. His heart beat rapidly with fear that something might have happened, "fuck this I'm going inside!" he shouted as he stomped his way back into the garage. He nearly crushed the kitchen phone in his grip as he dialed his girlfriend's number, to his terror there wasn't even a dial tone. He rushed upstairs, turning on lights as he went and reached his room, under his bed he pulled out a box with more ammo, and placed them into his jeans pockets. Then put on a jacket and rushed outside to his car. "If anyone so much as touched her I'm going to tear them a new ass hole and shove their dick in it!" Cody said as he stepped on the gas of his car and sped off like a bat out of hell. Past abandoned cars and other people who were waking up to this new and terrifying world.
…
Grey sighed as he opened his front door and stepped out, checking the watch on his wrist. The time solar powered divers watch read "2:56pm" but the sun was already setting. "Damn thing must be set wrong" Grey grumbled as he walked out of his house and locked the door, even though it was July he wore a light jacket, mostly to hide the two handgun holsters he had. Around his back Grey had a duffle bag with the Winchester inside. Grey also carried a small laptop with him as he walked to his father's small car, and got in. He took a few moments to log onto his email and send messages to his 2 friends; one was Schirachi, his online friend for almost 3 years and boyfriend for 1 year, the other to an old High School friend who still kept in contact. He sent them emails about whether they were ok or not and that he would check for their response for as long as he could. "Weird...why isn't the power or internet down?" Grey said as he started the car, he wasn't sure where he would go but he knew he couldn't stay at home and hope it all went away.
Grey turned on the car and popped in a mixed CD, the first song being Twisted Wheel - Oh What Have You Done. He pulled out into the road "time to nut up or shut up," he said to himself as he drove away.
…
Schirachi rushed into his house calling for his parents "mom dad?" he looked in their room and checked their answering machine but there were no messages. Schirachi then discovered the pile of clothes on their bed. He lay against a wall and slid down it, feeling all his strength slip away from him. His mother and father gone, nothing but the clothing they wore. But whatever was doing these things did not want to leave him alone to his thoughts, the lights began to flicker and die one by one as a whisper grew louder in his ear. "Schirachi...Schirachi" he jumped up and looked at a shadow in the shape of his mother. The wolf quickly reached into his jeans and pulled out a glow stick that he used for drawing when the power was out. The thing hissed slightly at the sight of the light. Schirachi slowly moved upstairs since the front door was covered completely in what looked like arms, and hands, made out of shadow. He was terrified, all the other lights in his home had now died, and his only protection was the small glow stick in his hand. Schirachi rushed into his bedroom and locked the door, he quickly looked around for another light source. He saw the fading light of day outside his window and knew that he only had minutes to spare. The black wolf quickly picked up a chair and smashed his window and jumped out, he ran as fast as he could towards what looked like a street lamp in the distance. But the closer he got the more he heard a noise that sounded like helicopter blades.

Excellent work, so Grey was a botyfriend of Schirachi... lol. the last friend of Zack aka Bonedaaddy that he would want to know that, even if it's just in a fictional story is me. I have too many jokes lined up already, sorry I have to them. Any way very nice work, and it reminds me that I got to work on more Schirachi and Korey stuff. also if theres a sequel or another story your going to do you have to put me it it... well either me or my alternate version Nikuvat (fursona doesn't kind fit cause he's a bug)
