Part of of my non de plume is "Night in gale" - wind/rain storms are fairly common ... and sometimes we get thunder storms - lightning strikes all over for hundreds of kilometers around, the electricity knocked out for days - so i wanted to magnify that sense of threat into the picture - 1960's kaiju lightning death rays.
