The long slept on comic has been finished. Finally. It's something that has haunted me for a long time. I never truly gave up on it, so much as I have put it off chronically for these past few years. A lot has happened in the time it took me to finish this project. A looooot.
I've moved house 5 times, soon to be 6.
I've had 9 different jobs.
Almost a dozen pairs of shoes.
4 generations of Pokemon.
Rent has doubled in my hometown.
I dropped out of college, then eventually went back and graduated.
Learned a skilled trade.
I've been through 3 different presidents.
Traded in my car 4 times.
My credit score grew up and now has a family.
Both of my dogs, several family members, and Rip Taylor died.
I have witnessed the birth and death of many memes.
Jeffrey Epstein didn't kill himself.
My IRL best friend got hitched and had two babies.
My mother became a dedicated vegan and then a dedicated carnivore, and lost 150 pounds.
Discovered the joy of medication.
Survived the Snap/Blip.
Survived the apocalypse of 2020.
Betty White sacrificed herself to save us from the apocalypse event of 2022.
Gained 700 GB of storage, watched the UK lose 1 GB.
Weird Al's absolutely true biopic took the cinematic world by storm. He will be missed.
Tide Pods became a local delicacy for a time and natural selection became canon.
Millions of people learned about the existence of Uganda and learned the way.
Clown breeding became rampant in 2016.
Harambe died for our sins.
Pokemon Go introduced countless people to the concept of grass.
Leonardo DiCaprio finally won an Oscar.
Deadpool was born in the year of our lord 2016. Welcome back, Ryan Reynolds.
Gained 30 pounds, then lost 20.
Began no less than a hundred more drawings that never got finished.
Learned several new art forms, including oil painting, fursuit making, Blender, and pottery throwing.
Became forklift certified three times over. One at a time ladies~
Discovered at least 3 new fetishes.
I've cultivated a taste for free-form polka.
I've learned carpentry and welding and low level engineering.
Met several of my early art idols.
Hosted home and board for several dear friends.
And perhaps most crucially, I've grown up in some ways. Maybe.
What I'm trying to say is, this comic took me a ridiculous amount of time to complete. I took long breaks between pages much of the time, but the main problem is my lack of focus. I got the ol' ADHD, so I kinda just drift where the dopamine is. But I am capable of committing. I have my upper limits though.
I think my biggest issue, ultimately, is just how samey most of this long project was. It was an old dream of mine to be a comic book artist, though that has since become a bit more of a novel goal instead of a comic one. But I would like to draw more comics. I simply love those kinds of projects, at least the idea of them. So then, if I wanna make more, how am I going to avoid taking another ten years for it?
Well, I was thinking that, for one, I need to tell a bit of a broader story instead of one taking place all in the same setting. That's what really made it rough for me. Keeping it all in one area. There was no variety to the situation apart from the various tickle props used. It became a chore to draw the same scene over and over again, hence why early on I decided to reuse background assets so heavily. It never would have gotten done if I had to draw the Assorted Crap store half a dozen times. It would have been straight up cancelled. =p
So, the idea is to start telling stories that are a bit more fast paced, more akin to illustrated light novels with a comic formatting on the side. Something that I can draw with a lot of variation without losing much if one decides to only look at the panels alone. Variety is the key here, I need it to keep my mind engaged. And I've got plenty of ideas for how to do this, what to draw for each character. Someday, I'd love to have a short comic for each of my main Emovere cast. And if I can figure it out, even one day publish a small printed omnibus of them all, if only for gits and shiggles. :3
Now a quick question for you all. What would you like to see? I'm mostly asking for ideas of my own cast, but maybe some other ideas could inspire me as well. I'm mostly just wanting to engage, I've not been very good at that the past long while and would like to try to change that.
I mean let's be real, I'm probably going to slack off from here until sunset, but I can sure try to make something of my life. Thank you all for your support over the years, and I hope to make so much more still. I have chronic focus issues, but I love art. I truly do, and hope I can make so much more until I physically can't any more. Thank you. ^ω^

Oh dang it took so long between the thing that all these other things happened.
I'm so proud to be able to call you my friend and I treasure the times we've spent together. Yer so talented and I don't think people even see part of it if they only know you casually. Proud of you bun bun and I look forward to whatever it is that you do next. No matter how long it takes to finish. ^~^
Hogs n kisses and awkward touches of validation

I'm glad that out of all of the stupid, crazy, wizzed-out things that happened over these years, that I got to be part of your adventure.
As for actual ideas, well...besides the ones I've mentioned countless times then promptly forgot I mentioned them, there's always YCHs.
Maybe to get around the annoyance of doing the same motions over again, why not do a reverse YCH? Instead of inserting a character into a situation, why not insert a situation into a character? As in, you provide a character you feel comfy drawing, and we're prompted to give that character a situation. Like "here's Dakota, situation and raise by 5 bucks, highest bid wins, you win sir, here's Dakota in line at the DMV/cheese factory." Maybe take cues from Whose Line's "Scenes From A Hat" and people pay to give you prompts you choose at random so you can sketch out a quick scenario.
