Nobody will ever make edible sofas. The tagline "have a eat" just doesn't roll off the tongue.
(FYI: I totally forgot the wings on Gereau in that lower panel. I'm just going to pretend I meant to do that and say it's magic.)

I would be confused if I where the green one. is the other saying she's chosen to both protect the newcomer and also be killed by them? If so, that implies a lot of foresight regarding things to come and a certainty that while the killing will be in a misguided belief it will serve some greater purpose worth dying for. While not as talented in extrasensory perception the goblinoid has no less demonstrated a mild awareness beyond the knowable given what Buttercup was considering regarding the poof chair.
"To welcome her in with open arms before she kills us all" is what Punctio said. If you think a little bit, there's an implication that their welcome should do something to prevent that outcome, and keep his people safe.
Imagine this- A cop sees someone drunkenly swinging a baseball bat around in a crowded area and says "I'm gonna arrest that guy before he gives someone a concussion". Is it more logical to say the cop has concluded that he will arrest this man, and then that man will kick someone in the head, or is it more logical to simply say that his arrest will prevent the man from hitting people with the baseball bat?
