AI sucks, and it sucks even harder when you're in an arts related creative field and people are using AI to write their essays and make their projects :(
It's made group projects so un-collaborative and boring too (T_T)
Mini vent doodle I guess ? I'm glad I'm graduating in a few months!! ☆(#××)

I've been actively cringing everytime one of my colleagues in classes discuss using it. Since we're in mental health classes, I also provide pdfs of studies showing how the use of AI for higher order tasks literally has a physiological impact on the brain. (They tend to not like that).
Basically, it reduces higher order thinking ability as demonstrated by electrical activity in the prefrontal cortex as well as other key areas associated with learning and metacognition. The brain is like any other "muscle" in the body - if you work out and use it, it gets stronger and keeps healthy. When you stop using it, it reduces in activity/ability. It's also the "give a man a fish/teach a man to fish" saying in a very observable way.
Fun fact, but the part of the brain where number sequences are stored has been significantly impacted by the reduction of need to remember phone numbers. Instead, we're seeing a specific unique area of the brain increasing for people remembering facts about Pokémon as that is sequential and categorized data that can be stored neatly in the brain.

makes me wonder how much it'll affect us in the future @_@ would our brains change as a species ? would we also be able to use the energy to think on other things instead like that tidbit you put in?? it's crazy to be in the moment of this technology *_*
That fact is totally me though, numbers are hard, but ask me about a pokemon and you bet i know! xD

The reality is that our brain has been constantly changing throughout history, especially as we gain access to better nutrition and medical care. There's actually a scary amount of stuff out there that can damage our brains, hence why eating and living healthy are critical.
Regarding specifically how AI might impact people long term is more of preventing higher order thinking from forming (especially the concept of "thinking for yourself" and being critical of information being provided, which is already a huge challenge for people) as opposed to genetic changes with initial brain development. Newer studies are showing that the brain actually isn't full formed in some people as late as age 27, so it's pretty interesting, especially with the rise of significantly increased marijuana usage, which is also linked to developmental impairment of the prefrontal cortex.
^^; Glad to see my graduate studies paying off, am I right?
