no.30: Pumpkin Guy - Halloween Forever
Alright. No more messing around! No shit posts, no irony, it's time to get the ball rolling on this Halloween Countdown with some pure, simple Halloween aesthetic...pure and simple? Did I make that this year's theme by accident? Probably not, but deliberately removing any kind of theme and going back one's humble beginning will unintentionally cause that, I suppose. Waxing philosophical aside, Halloween Forever is nothing special. I'd hazard to say that it's actually not all that good, but it's quaint, simple fun to enjoy during the spooky season and I appreciate it.
I appreciate it's sentiment -- Halloween Forever. A state I long to be in, or at the very least to keep it's spirit alive and that's not just a yearning for nostalgic feelings during this time of year. It's something that I feel is important to us as people and something that I fear one day may get away from us if we're not careful. The fun of Halloween, the aesthetic, it's duality of joy and fear that only it can bring. You may find it silly, but it's why I do these countdowns and work-(to the bets of my ability)-on a comic that is drenched in the very essence of the holiday. I want to keep the flame alive and maybe reignite it in you whenever you see these posts. Nothing big, nothing special, just something to make you remember all those fond memories and maybe contribute yourself, even if it's just carving a jack-o-lantern...
So go out there. Have a good October/Halloween. Play Halloween Forever if it helps. It's cheap and short, but it features a cute pumpkin headed boy who spits exploding candy corn and that's alright by me! ...but like... it is also kinda meh as a whole so, 30th place Pumpkin Guy!
