to be fair, if you got the offer of "become part of the main cast, say Fuck once" you'd probably overlook the "immediately gain 800 pounds after filming and have to wear a big teasy bikini" part of the contract
i've still never read homestuck and i watched the pilot earlier with friends, i know the whole point of it is that it's more of a condensed overview rather than actually being episode 1 but it was still kinda confusing and didnt really hook me that much, the set design was really cool and i love how they explained the inventory stuff and jade is just stuck in a bubble for some reason

Yeah, as one of the OG Homestuck fans who was incredibly active in the fandom and followed every update, I was not impressed by how many liberties the animated pilot took, especially the use of phones replacing chat programs and turning the John vs Dad fight into a ridiculous DBZ spectacle. Dave was characterized all wrong for this early in the story too.
