Misc - Neopets: The Darkest Faerie De-make (Animated!)
Behold! Sir Tormund, knight of Meridell!
...or so this farm boy daydreams.
Here's the result of my recent obsession with 'Neopets: The Darkest Faerie' and it's ill-fated PS1 iteration -- it was a whole lotta fun to make!

(Yeah, I used to play a lot back in the early days of Neopets, back when there wasn't nearly as much stuff to do.)
Petpet Adventures is an ARPG but without the "Diablo itemization" thing that a lot of ARPGs usually have.
One thing I like to point out about the game is that it basically has the "Soulslike" money system where you spend money on equipment AND levels, but the game has two major differences:
1. Neopoints in the game are a LIMITED resource. There's no way to get more, no respawning enemies, no respawning chests, no respawning barrels or boxes, so if you're wasting them on stuff you don't need, you'll be underleveled/underpowered and there'll be nothing you can do about it.
2. Instead of buying levels, you buy tokens to fight in an arena, and if you WIN, you get your stat point. (I can't remember what happens if you lose though.)
