Dialogue / Summary:
“For what it’s worth, I’m sorry—““Don’t! …Don’t even start.”
“You know what we are, Ni’Ren.”
“And so do you! This rift only exists because you ordered it!”
“Yes. I did.”
“Then, why? Why cast me out? Why build this wall?”
“You forget what time we live in. The war we were built for is over. Has been for centuries. Long before we were even born. Look around you: We live in a world of peace. Like it or not, one of us cannot be seen.”
“I don’t care! We’re supposed to live together!”
“And what if, by doing so, we become the Sword we both swore we wouldn’t be?”
“That’s not fair, and you know it! What you’re suggesting, it’s not right!”
“One of us has to live in the past so we can both survive.”
“But that’s nothing but pain — It tears us both apart! Don’t tell me you can’t feel that!”
“I do. But we wield an element of shadow. One built for darkness and death. This world won’t accept us as the weapon we are. And if we are to be the shield we’ve sworn ourselves to be, I don’t see any other way. Whether you admit it to yourself or not, neither do you.”
“So you’ve chosen, for both of us, the path of Fear. Of Shame.”
”For now, I have to. This is the way it has to be.”
I just wish you'd understand...
I'm a part of you too.

So much to love about this one.

So much to love about this one.
Question is: Who shut who out?
Did one side have such a desire to be accepted that its will superseded the other and forced it down?
Or did one side feel so unwanted they saw no other option but to disappear?
Are the arguments logical? Or are they emotional?
I'll let you toy around with these thoughts as you read through the dialogue.
